PROTECTING VULNERABLE LEARNERS

At TLC we aim to give all young people the chance of a positive future by helping them to learn in ways that motivate
and stretch them and enable them to achieve; engage in positive developmental activities; make informed choices
about their lives and benefit from high-quality, targeted support before problems escalate.

We aim to offer all of our young learners better information, advice and guidance about issues that matter to them,
delivered in the way they want to receive it. Better support when they need extra help to deal with problems.

Good Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) is essential and TLC are committed to helping young people make
the right learning and career choices and enabling them to find answers to the questions and issues which can arise
in their personal lives.

TLC is committed to the well-being of all learners including children and young people under the age of 19
and vulnerable adults. Our aim is for every learner that engages with TLC, whatever their background or their
circumstances, will have the support they need to:

• Be healthy
• Stay safe
• Enjoy and achieve
• Make a positive contribution
• Achieve economic well-being

TLC will work closely with local communities and partners to gather and put forward the views of the most vulnerable
people in society, and we will promote their involvement in the work of our employers whose decisions and actions
affect them.

TLC aims to identify at an early stage any of our learners at risk of social exclusion, and make sure they receive the
help and support they need to achieve their potential.
