LEARNER EXPERIENCE

         THE TRAINING & LEARNING COMPANY

         ABSENCE

It is your responsibility to inform your TLC trainer of any absence (sickness, long term sickness, appointments and holidays)
preventing you from achieving your monthly learning targets.

If you are unable to attend either the monthly one to one assessment session or the off-the-job teaching and learning
session, you need to inform your trainer and/or your administrator at least 48 hours in advance. In the case of any
unforeseen absence (sickness etc), your employer/line manager must inform your trainer and/or administrator immediately
and make alternative arrangement for the visit or continue the planned visit seeking alternative assessment evidence.

Attendance during off the job training always needs to remain consistent. If your attendance falls below 80% your funding
may be at risk. Your employer will be notified regularly of unauthorised absence or lateness.

If you are unable to submit any of the independent learning material set by your trainer you will be asked for an
explanation on your monthly progress review and liaise with your trainer to provide an action plan. All comments and
actions will be documented and discussed with your employer.

If you are going to be off sick for more than 21 days, you will need to let your trainer know as soon as possible. This is
because you are allocated a period of time to complete your Apprenticeship and long term sickness will have an impact on
this. To make sure that you do not lose any time on your Apprenticeship, you will be temporarily withdrawn until you notify
         your trainer of your return.

End point assessment cancellations will incur financial penalties or additional costs to your employer so you must ensure that
         you are able to attend.

If at any point you feel you are struggling to attend or there are barriers to you continuing in learning; don’t give up! Speak
to your trainer, learning team member or employer as soon as you can so that you can discuss the best course of action.
