Introduction

            The natural wold includes the
biotic (plants, fungi, animals, and 1
microbes) as well as the abiotic
            (air, water, soil, etc.) components
existing in nature. The presence and
            interactions between and among the
            biotic and abiotic components shape
the natural world which may be
partitioned into a variety of habitats
            and ecosystems. Both the biotic
            and abiotic components, hence the
natural world, may change over time
due to changes to the habitats.

“Human beings are part of, not separate from
the natural world. Human survival and mental
            health and personal fulfilment historically
            depended upon establishing a wholesome
            relationship with natural world.”

“If humans hope to achieve a more
harmonious relationship with the natural world,
we will have to see it in full: breath taking, dirty,
and inspiring, and annoying all at the same
            time.” 1 Painted Jezebel Delias
