                                   Conclusion - Part 3

We learn a great profound rule from this. Even Yaakov Aveinu
before his passing, at a time when he was completely detached from
all matters in this world (that is the inner reason why his eyes were
‘heavy’ from old age) as long as he had a physical body he still .
needed to partner his body to his soul in order that the connection
of his soul to their souls would be complete since the body and soul
are one integral being at all levels of physicality and spirituality.
An imperfection in the attachment of the body expresses itself in an
imperfection in the attachment of the soul.

             The Sforno explains this concept also in Yosef’s effort to get ה ִמ ְד ֶנ .
             his father Yaakov to place his right hand on Menashe - to bless
Menashe with his right hand - and Yaakov’s reaction in crossing his
             hands and putting his right hand on Efrayim and his left hand on
             Menashe. Here too one must understand if Yaakov wanted to bless ,
Efrayim more than Menashe, couldn’t he just put more expression
             into his concentration on his Beracha to Efrayim? In order for his
             Beracha to be more effective why was it necessary to specifically
put his right hand on Efrayim by crossing-over his arms? This is
             how the Sforno explains it (32:18) “because in reality by placing ,דוּמּ ֶל ְל יוּנ ָׁ ר ֵתּי ֶּאֹר ,תֶי ַבּ ַבּ ה ָבּט ַחוּר ה ָרֶּ ם ֶא .
             his hand on Efrayim, Yaakov’s soul will focus more on him and the
             power of Yaakov’s right hand is stronger than the power of his left - תוּחי ֶת ְמ ת ַרי ֶו ֲא תֶי ַבּ ַבּ ה ָרֶּ ר ִֶ ֲא ַכּ ל ָב ֲא .
hand. The intensity of the Beracha is greater when the right hand is
             placed on the right side than when that same Beracha transfers from
             the left hand to the left side. Incredible!! Even this small difference
between placing the right hand or the left hand expresses itself in
             the focus of the soul’s Beracha, even by Yaakov Aveinu at the time
             of his passing.

             From this we can learn a general rule regarding the opportunities .)
of doing Chessed with one’s physical actions which exist between
             a husband and his wife “as it demands work-effort to bond, which ה ָו ֲה פי ֶת ְמי ֶח ְר י ֶכּ ..."

             the Chazon Ish wrote in his letter.

We will end this essay with the conclusion used in Maran’s letter.
             “One must pray for mercy from Hashem, as Chazal have said - In all פי ֶתּ ֶֶ ר ַבּ אָי ְרוּׁ ,פי ֶת ְמי ֶח ְר א ָזי ֶז ֲע אלֹ ְד א ָת ְֶ ַה .)"
