Recommendations for
Digital SALONS

The competition must be open exclusively to digital or digitalized images, both for black and white and
colour images.

DIMENSIONS OF ENTRIES (FORMAT)

The files for the projection and for the realization of a catalogue on CD-Rom must be in JPG format
with a compression of 10 or 8, greatest dimension 1024 pixels.
For making catalogues or with the aim of creating exhibitions it is necessary in more to have one file
(also JPG, 10 or 8) of the same images in high definition of minimum 2400 pixels in the greatest
dimension.
A higher resolution can be accepted by organizers, but with explicit mention in their rules.
The images taking part in the competition will have to be sent as electronic material (CD-Rom, DVD,
etc… by postal mail) or by e-mail, and also the entry form and entry fees.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

The entrant must be the owner of all rights of the submitted works.
All parts of the picture must have been photographed by the author.

JUDGING CONDITIONS

All pictures taking part will be presented to the jury members through a multimedia projector (virtual
juries are not allowed, all judges must be together in the same place to judge the works, preselections
are not allowed).

ENTRY IDENTITY

- The file name coding will be on maximum 31 characters, in 4 or 5 groups:
- The first group will include the country ISO code in 2 characters (list available on www.fiap.net >
Download zone > Enter > Various).
- The second group will be the author’s name limited to five characters (smith or jsmit or josmi for
John Smith).
- The third group will be an indicator for the section, F = free, N = nature, T = travel, etc…
- The fourth group will be a sequential number for the photos, (1 to 4).
- The fifth group, non obligatory, will comprise the title of the work preceded by one dash (_) and
truncated to the first 17 characters
- Only figures and letters, and eventually the dash (_) are authorized. The letters will be lowercase,
except the letter of the third group (section) which will be in uppercase.
 Example: gbsmithN1.jpg , gbsmithN2.jpg , …
 Example: gbsmithN1_Still_life.jpg , gbsmithN2_Les_nuits_de_Pari.jpg , …
