Sexual                                        No federal laws presently exist that prohibit

                                                                                          discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation


                    Orientation                                                              The Employer Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA)

                                                                                                has been reintroduced in Congress and would
                                                                                                extend federal employment discrimination

                                                                                                protections to cover sexual orientation

                                                                                             Originally ENDA included transgendered, but

                                                                                                this has been removed in order to gain support

                                                                                                for the legislation



                                                                                     Federal employees are protected by the Civil
                                                                                          Service Reform Act of 1978, which  prohibits job

                                                                                          discrimination for any non-job-related issue.
