Visual
Students who best internalize and synthesize information when it is presented to them in a graphic depiction of meaningful symbols
are described as visual learners. They may respond to arrows, charts, diagrams and other visualizations of information hierarchy, but
not necessarily to photographs or videos.
Auditory
Auditory (or aural) learners are most successful when they are given the opportunity to hear information presented to them vocally.
This includes music, discussion, lectures, etc.
Reading/Writing
Students who work best in the reading/writing modality demonstrate a strong learning preference for the written word. This
includes both written information presented in class in the form of handouts and PowerPoint slide presentations as well as the
opportunity to synthesize course content in the completion of written assignments.
Kinesthetic
Kinesthetic learners are hands‐on, participatory learners who need to take a physically active role in the learning process in order to
achieve their best educational outcomes. They are sometimes referred to as “tactile learners,” but this can be a bit of a misnomer;
rather than simply utilizing touch, kinesthetic learners tend to engage all of their senses equally in the process of learning.
COURSE PREREQUISITES
Description: Courses often require a course prerequisite for learners to maximize their ability to achieve the learning outcomes.

LEARNER COURSE MATERIALS
Please describe all the materials required for this learning event.
All materials required for this course are provided by the instructor and I5O Consulting Services. The learners will receive the Six Sigma presentation
along with other course materials included in the learning event (process maps template, etc.).
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Please describe the learning event description. This includes a brief description that will inform potential learners of the subject matter, approach,
and applicability of the course.
Six Sigma Yellow Belt (Business Process Reengineering) is aimed to focus on business processes re‐engineering teams that uncover operational
efficiencies and dynamic synergies that leverage capabilities and improve performance. The model is built around customer/client centrist
processes that render significant business value. In the course, learners will increase their knowledge of process mapping and the DMAIC
framework to develop strategies to implement in their own business processes.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Description: The learning outcomes should be achievable for all learners through the learning assessment and event.
Reference: Assessment of Learning Outcomes SOP
Upon completion of this course, learners will:
a. Outline the aspects of Six Sigma and identify process improvement techniques.
b. Recognize the key elements of the DMAIC Framework.
c. Demonstrate how business process mapping is performed in an organization.

TEACHING METHODOLOGY AND ASSESSMENT
Please describe how the course will be presented to the learners. This will include the method of instruction, learning assessment method, etc. Also
include any/all criteria for instruction and feedback throughout the learning event.
The training will be held in‐person in Bulcher Hall at the South Carolina State University (SCSU). The training facility must include a large space (due
to COVID restrictions) for a minimum of 6 feet separation between learners. The facility must also be technology‐enabled for learners to view the
presentation provided. The instructor(s) will present the learning information critical to the curriculum of the course and also lead the learning
event group exercises.
