    Motivation is a person’s  predisposition to act in a goal directed manner.
                                                                                      This predisposition is a function of needs, values, motives, incentives,
                                                                                      objectives & goals


                                                                                     Content Theories of Motivation refer to the needs, motives, and rewards
                                                                                      that people are attempting to satisfy


                                                                                     Hierarchy of Needs
                         Content                                                            Maslow suggests that needs can be reduced to five hierarchal


                                                                                             needs:  Physiological, Safety, Belongingness and Love, Esteem, and

                                                                                            Herzberg concluded that people have two independent needs that
                                                                                             affect work:  Environment & Motivators
