On June O5, 2022, the Leos of District 20-K1 celebrated at the Leos’ End
of the Year / Graduation and Awards Luncheon. District Leo President
Emilie Nguyen delivered a warm welcome and District Leo Vice President
Jocelyn Delgado welcomed the Lion dignitaries, Leo awardees and
graduates, Lions, family and friends.

Leo District Chairperson Stephanie Simeon served as MC for the event
while Lion Paula Spann ( Leo District Co-Chair) managed other important
details to support the success of the event. The theme for the celebration
was “A Day in Havana” and the venue featured a selfie station, table
centerpieces of favorite things from Havana: Cuban flags, coffee, classic
cars, and bubble gum cigars.
District Governor Elect Ingrid Andrews-Campbell delivered greetings on
behalf of District Governor Anthony Cochran. In addition, she presented
an inspiring message to congratulate the 2022 graduates, award recipients
and all the Leos for an amazing year.

PDG Ozzie Torres and PDG Melissa Torres represented PDG Audrey
Doorn, Chairperson of the PDG Association’s Leos Award Committee.
They awarded the scholarships to Leo Nataliey Draper (Springfield
Gardens Leos Club) winner of the Alpha Scholarship and Leo Kayla
Draghine (Metro Omega Leos Club) winner of the Omega Scholarship.

Another highlight of the evening was the drawing of the Leos’ End of the
Year and Awards Ceremony Raffle. The winners were:

Grand Prize Winner: Lion Yvonne Rampersaud: 65" Smart HD TV.

Second Prize Winner’s ticket sold by Lion Janet John won the Amazon
Echo Show.

Third Prize Winner: Lion Joylyn Persaud: Samsung Tab A7 10" tablet.
Fourth Prize Winner: Leo Lastra: iRola 7” tablet.
The Lions and Leos danced and celebrated the afternoon as DJ Nadia
played all the latest songs and song requests.
