SUPPORTS VISION AND
THE ENVIRONMENT
In support of Lions Clubs International’s global focus on
environmental services, Queens Pride Lions Club held its Spring
EcoPalooza Environmental event on May 15, 2022, “teaming”
with the Lower East Side Ecology Center. “We were blessed to
have such great weather”, said Lion Sonia Roman, Membership
Chair.
Queens Pride Lions Club is proud to report that 2 tons of
electronic waste was kept out of New York City landfills. We
also collected 17 contractor bags of clothing which will be
donated to FASHION ON GENDER, a non-profit organization
dedicated to helping the homeless transgender community. (see photo)
In support of the global cause of the Vision initiative, 12 pairs of glasses were also collected. The Queens Pride
Lions Club will hold another EcoPalooza in the Fall, and we look forward to seeing our fellow Lions there!
