CORONA RESIDENTS
TREATED WITH THANKSGIVING LUNCH
Reported by Lion Beatriz Fabregas
(Queens Colombia Lions Club)
On November 24, 2022, a pride of Lions from Brooklyn and Queens, partnered with the
Comfort Day Care Center, to make sure that 400 needy families in Corona had a reason to
be thankful on Thanksgiving Day.
From 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. free “take away” lunches were served. The meal
consisted of turkey stuffing with onions and celery, mashed potatoes, green salad, gravy,
green beans, corn, dinner rolls, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie. Light
refreshments were available and live holiday music added to the festive atmosphere.
The following clubs participated in this service project: Queens Colombia, Queens Las
Americas, Brooklyn Starrett City Spring-Creek, and Queens United Lions Clubs.
The smiling faces and glowing compliments of those in attendance, particularly from the
families who came to pick up the lunch, were highly gratifying and valuable to all the
Lions who participated in this service project.
