BROOKLYN METROPOLIS LIONS
SERVE THANKSGIVING MEALS
TO MARK CHARTER ANNIVERSARY
November was a busy month for Brooklyn
Metropolis Lions Club, Inc. To highlight and
celebrate their 14th Charter Anniversary on
November 24, they hosted an in-person
Thanksgiving dinner in partnership with the
New York Police Department PSA 2 and
Mylah, Inc., They served 193 persons at the
Vandalia Older Adult Center.
Dine-in guests were treated to an enjoyable
afternoon of not just delicious traditional
Thanksgiving fare, but music for dancing
(and they danced), games and
prizes. Service was more than the physical
meal but providing family and interaction
during a celebratory time for those whose
loved ones could not join them or were
unable to prepare the meal.
Dinner was also provided for approximately
300 persons at a nearby shelter. The
projects were chaired by Lion Cynthia Ellis
who managed the logistics and Lion
Abegale Colter, certified chef, who ran the
kitchen with such efficiency. The set up
was completed in 30 minutes before start
time. Both were successful projects at all
levels.
