FOR TOYS DISTRIBUTION

The NYPD 110th Pct Explorers Program is an amazing
project that teaches children about careers in Law
Enforcement and community volunteerism.
Lion President Mildred Ramirez and Lion Board Member
Isabelita Cruz from Betty’s Catering were excited to
team with the officers to host their 1st Toys Giveaway.

Lion Betty offered her location and everything fell into
place. Lion Vincent volunteered to be Santa. Lion Beryl
Burris, our Guiding Lion, donated over 50 books which
were given to the children together with a
toy. Participants included the NYPD Marching Band,
P.S.14 Children’s Choir, NYPD K-9 and a room filled with
children, parents and Lions of District 20-K1.
We also co-sponsored the 3rd Annual Silver Spoon Toy
Giveaway honoring Lion Jim Galloway’s Toy Giveaway.
We also co-sponsored The Al Perna and Guida Funeral
Home Annual Toy Giveaway in Corona Queens. By
collaborating with other community organizations we
were able to distribute over 900 toys to children in
Queens.
