TRIP TO THE LEO FORUM IN CALIFORNIA

                                             By David Farquhar
This was my experience at the 2022 Leo leadership forum:

When I first arrived in California with Lion Fern, we were two days
early along with the Leo’s from Curaçao. They were very friendly.
The forum was not fully set up as yet, so I was paired with a
group to remain occupied. This way I was not in my room being
     bored.
Before the forum began, I met my roommates Oliver, Aiden, and
Ryan. Oliver and Ryan are both a part of the Canada Leo group.
Aiden is from the Florida Leo group. Although the forum is over,
we remain in contact. I truly believe I made some lifelong friends!
We are all still in contact with each other. I think I made some
     friends for life!

At the start of the forum, we were able to take small tours. We
had a choice of two, either the beach or the shopping mall. Those
that went to the beach saw sea otters while my group went to the
shopping mall and walked the boardwalk. I really would have loved
to go to the beach, unfortunately I was outnumbered by the
     members of my group.
The next few days, we had classes such as how to be the best
leader in our clubs and public speaking. We received a lot of great
information. My favorite class was led by Lion Fern. It was on
public speaking. While participating in this class, we accomplished
a lot while having fun. This class gave me the courage to speak in
front of a group of about 150 people. I spoke about how I
became a Leo and how my grandma Lion Jerusha inspired me.
Believe it or not these classes were a lot of fun.
After our classes, we went to the pool, did karaoke and got to stay
up late watching movies. That was our time to mix and mingle and
     get to know each other.
On the last night of the forum, there was a formal dinner. We were
all dressed to impress. We received completion certificates from the
     International President Brian Sheehan.
I am very proud of myself for attending this forum!
This was a very good first experience! I'm looking forward to the
next forum. I would like to say a special thank you to Lion Fern
and Lion Adina. They were great chaperones. They made sure I
had everything I needed in the absence of my grandma Lion
     Jerusha Jacobs.
     Thank You!
