FLUSHING CENTRAL PRESENTS
SIGNATURE SENIORS’ PARTY
On September 18th, after a two years hiatus due to the pandemic, Flushing Central Lions Club once again hosted one of their signature
events: “Seniors Celebration Party, ” at Sheraton LaGuardia East Hotel in downtown Flushing.
Since 1991, the focus of this event is to celebrate our elders with gifts and entertainment.
In his address, President Bob Chou explained that due to public health and safety concerns, only 300 free admission tickets were
distributed, instead of the usual 500. However, he expressed the club’s gratitude and delight to be finally able to acknowledge and
salute the seniors and give them the respect and honor they deserve. He thanked them for the wisdom and life lessons that they
pass down to the next generations.
President Bob Chou was especially touched that some of Flushing Central Lions Club's 15 Life members, all of them seniors themselves,
still worked tirelessly to help prepare the 300 gift bags. They are the embodiment of the motto of Lions Club International, "We
serve".
All together, over 40 Lions, Leos, Leo parents and performers worked together to bring the Seniors Celebration Party of Flushing Central
Lions Club to fruition.
