Betto Maduro is our first
athlete to participate in
the Parapan American
Games
TUESDAY afternoon Albertino (Betto) Maduro along with the Aruban Paralympics delegation left for Canada
to be the first Aruban to participate in the Parapan American Games. The delegation arrived well in Canada and
Betto is currently undergoing strict training to prepare for the 100 and 200 meter race, he has already received
lots of attention from international media.
The official Parapan American Games opening ceremony is taking place today August 7 and the races and
the races begin on Monday August 10.
After 70 years of trying Aruba finally managed to become a member of the International Paralympics
Organization and now has a delegation in Canada ready to participate in The Parapan American Games
and will participate in the World Paralympics that will be held in Brazil.
The Aruban Paralympics’ Committee wants to thanks MEDIQ for all their support
given to the committee.
Aruba wishes Betto lots of success and is extremely happy to see an Aruban
representing our island in the Parapan American Games.
