Time Act Notice
The law requires that VNSNY provide up to 40 hours of "protected" time off in each
calendar year, which may not be denied based on operational needs, and further may
not count for purposes of issuing disciplinary actions.
As of May 5, 2018, the law requires VNSNY to permit employees to request PTO
or sick time if they (or a family member) are the victim of an act or threat of
domestic violence or unwanted sexual contact, stalking or human
trafficking, and they need to seek assistance or safety measures (“safe time”
under the law).
