Children and Family Services
Bronx Fatherhood Program
The Bronx Fatherhood Program helps young, low-income
fathers to understand the important role a father plays in
his child’s life and provide emotional support to help these
young men accept the responsibilities and enjoy the rewards
of fatherhood. The mission is to ensure that all fathers who
wish to be involved in their child’s life get the chance to do
so. This program focuses on young fathers, many of whom
are teenagers, to help them recognize they are not just
financial providers but nurturers as well. Participants:
• Attend twice-weekly support groups
• Receive instruction in basic parenting skills
• Are connected to resources and agencies to help them
continue their educations
• Get help finding employment
• Contribute financially to their children’s support
