In most papers, there is a section following literature review. This is commonly
referred to as research methods. According to Wallwork (2011) research method

section generally describes the methods the researcher used to carry out his/ her
study in such a way that is detailed so that it can be further replicated. Widodo (2019)

elaborates that research methods cover five major parts namely 1) research design,

2) research instruments, 3) participants, 4) research procedures, and 5) data
analysis. This unit will elaborate how you design your research methods of both

quantitative and qualitative research paper following their rhetorical elements and

language functions.
