                     Getting Started

               Below are several complications and side effects of Nasogastric Tube (NGT) feeding. Decide whether they
               are considered minor or whether they are major.


                  Minor side effect is when the discomfort can be
                   resolved when the tube is safely removed.




                    major side effect is when the condition needs
                     more serious care and treatment.

                        Hypokalemia/low potassium
                              Wounded esophagus
                          Gastrointestinal bleeding
                                       Discomfort
                        Entangled or dislodged tube
                                   Pressure ulcers
                                   Infiltrated lungs
                     Irritation on the stomach lining
                                       Sore throat
                                      Nosebleeds
