help with your feeding or medication if you can't take them by mouth. But, before that,
                                let me confirm
Mrs. Sarah : “How are you feeling about it?”
Mrs. Sarah : “I’ve never had this done before. It sounds uncomfortable.”
Ns. Grace : “I understand. It can feel uncomfortable, but I’ll walk you through it. Do you have any
questions before I start the procedure?”
                Mrs. Sarah : “No.”
Ns. Grace “Okay, then we should start now. First, I’m going to help position you. Please sit upright,
around a 45 to 90-degree angle, with your head slightly tilted forward. This position
helps the tube go down smoothly and reduces any discomfort.”
Mrs. Sarah : “Okay, I’m ready.”
Ns. Grace : “Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Now, I’ll put on my (2) …………………………. and (3)
…………………………………………………….. for cleanliness. I’ll explain every step, and we’ll take
                                it slow.”
Mrs. Sarah : “All right, that helps.”
Ns. Grace : “I’ll start by measuring the tube to ensure it’s the right length and marking it with a (4)
………………………… to ensure it reaches your stomach.” we’ll use a bit of (5)
…………………………… to make sure the tube slides in easily. If necessary, we can also use
                                (5) ……………………………………………………………. to numb your nose.”
Mrs. Sarah : “Okay. Will it hurt?”
Ns. Grace : “You might feel some pressure and discomfort, especially when the tube reaches the
back of your throat. You’ll have a (7) ……………………………………………………. to sip when
the tube reaches your throat—this will help it go down smoothly. We’ll go slowly, and
I’ll guide you through breathing exercises. I also have this (8)
……………………………………………………… nearby just in case you feel the urge to cough or
                                gag. Staying relaxed really helps.”
Mrs. Sarah : “Okay, I’ll try my best.”
Ns. Grace : “I’m done measuring the tube and ensuring it reaches your stomach. I’ve applied the
lubricant to help with insertion. Can you tilt your head back, please? I’ll insert the tube
through your nose now, are you ready?”
Mrs. Sarah : “Wait, is there anything I should do while you’re inserting it?”
Ns. Grace : “Yes, I’ll let you know once the tube reaches the back of your throat, once it’s there,
you can tilt your head down slightly and start sipping the water or imitate swallowing
movements. Breathe through your nose and let me know if you need a pause at any
                                point.”
Mrs. Sarah : “Got it. Let’s get this over with.”
Ns. Grace : “All right, I’m starting now. You’ll feel the tube entering your nose. Breathe in and out
through your nose. You’re doing great so far.”
Mrs. Sarah : “Feels strange, but it’s okay.”
Ns. Grace : “Good. Now, I’m going to advance the tube a little further. Mrs Sarah, the tube now
reaches the back of your throat, start sipping the water.”
