Mr. Darjo : “Waalaikumsalam. I’m okay, just a little uncomfortable and having some trouble
breathing deeply.”
Nurse Kelly : “I understand. One of the things we can do to help with your breathing is adjusting
your position in bed. Proper positioning can improve your oxygen levels and make
breathing easier. Would you like me to explain how we’ll do that?”
Mr. Darjo : “Yes, please. That sounds helpful.”

Mr. Darjo : “Alright, I’ll try lifting myself.”
Nurse Kelly : “Good job. Now, relax your shoulders and let the pillow support your back. We want
you to be comfortable but also in a position that maximizes your breathing. You must
avoid lying flat for too long because it makes it harder for the air to move in and out of
your lungs.”
Mr. Darjo : “I can already feel a little more air coming in.”

Mr. Darjo : “Okay, my knees are bent.”
Nurse Kelly : “Perfect! Now, let’s focus on breathing. Take a deep breath in through your nose and
then slowly exhale through your mouth. You could do this regularly to help oxygenate
your blood and keep your lungs clear.”
Mr. Darjo : “It feels good to do that. I should probably remember to do this often, right?”
