Terminology
The various parts of the rope and different knots have names or designations
that are worth knowing.
The working end is the part of the rope you are using when tying a knot,
while the standing part is either attached to something else or is not needed
in order to make the knot.
The rope end is just as it sounds—the end of the rope.
