World Bank & IMF relationship with Africa and Africans
(In a ‘boss-centric’ relationship, the ‘boss’ simply tells people what to do. Ie he has the larger
‘say’ in any decisions. In a ‘subordinate-centric’ relationship, the ‘boss’ consults other people
and decisions are made jointly.)
Many African countries feel that their relationship with World Bank & IMF is ‘boss-centric’
and that these Bretton Wood Institutions have to go through their own ‘structural
adjustment’ in order to be capable of a more ‘subordinate centric’ approach to economic
development in Africa.
