D
o you see what I see? was a common unspoken phrase throughout the progression
of conceiving the idea and designing the newsletter. Being unfamiliar with the
whole process and previously a bystander to it, myself and the design team, were
often found in a state of conflict. A conflict, amidst how we saw a certain colour,
font or picture and just how it would translate to a vast body of students and management
         alike.

Yet just like any other situation, conflict is not always obstructive and to an extent: necessary.
         The way we frame a problem has a powerful impact on the solutions we can see out of  it;
hence, we could see the conflict as competition and focus our energy to win it, see it as a prob-
lem and focus towards reaching the best possible outcome or treat it as a lesson to help con-
sider how it could be dealt with differently next time.

A new year, a new decade is upon us, to confess these words to me seem futile. I tend to be im-
passive with things like the passage of time and similar elements like aging that seem to con-
cern those around me. I cannot say I enjoy it but it does not seem to concern me either. Nev-
ertheless, this is undeniably an important year of my life and I cannot help but reminisce the
memories I made in my eight-year tenure at Al Waha.
From an anxious fifth grader who was unsure of fitting in, to a level-headed twelfth grader
who everyone can depend on. Al Waha has given me friends who are irreplaceable, mentors
who I truly respect and whose words of advice, affection have imprinted my heart and a
peaceful surrounding where I can be myself. Although it saddens me that this incredible jour-
ney is coming to an end, I will always be proud of being part of Al Waha and forever indebt-
ed to all that it has given me.

In the end, I would like to first give praise to Allah and then thank the editorial team: the re-
porters, editors and especially the designers as well as the teachers who gave their precious
time into the making of this edition of the newsletter. Thank you for your contribution.
