About a month later, Jean became pregnant. We loved our baby
Janet, now two years old. Janet nearly drove Jean crazy when they

Jean would come walking back carrying grocery sacks, little Janet
would walk up the sidewalk to the entrance of each house they passed,

        became a half-hour due to Janet’s dawdling!
Janet was real cute about her toilet training. In the morning, she
would wake up in her crib, dry. She would stand up in her bed and call
out, “Oh, oh”. This call would be repeated after ten seconds. If you
didn’t pick her up and rush her to the toilet before the third “Oh, oh” the
        deluge followed.
Janet and I had a game we played almost every night. It was
called “Big Bear and Piece of Meat.” I played on my hands and knees
as the big bear. I would growl in my deepest voice and go after her. She
would pretend to be frightened until I caught her and was about to eat
her up. She would then abandon the “frightened little girl” role, push me
away, and walk on in the room. She would then growl to me to start the
        game again.
At Ninth Service Command, I had jumped from being the new
guy to being chief of the branch. I had two analysts working for me at

with the Russians winning tremendous battles on the Eastern Front and
        the Allies having invaded France.
