Engine to Gearbox Alignment

Once crankshaft deflection is completing the laser tool can now be fitted to adjust for angular, vertical, and
horizontal alignment. Each laser tool and manufacturer requires its own set up technics measurements. Refer
to your laser tool user manual for specific.

               • If you are performing an alignment with a TEF style coupling the cold alignment must be done with center
ring removed! OPEN COUPLING IS REQUIRED
               • Once your alignment tool is secured to the engine (stationary) and gearbox (moveable) you will perform an
engine rotation, the laser tool dictates this rotation degree you are using.
               • Based on field experience it is advised during the cold alignment process to pay particularly close attention
to the angular offset. The angular offset offers the least amount of variance and taking the time to adjust
this during the cold alignment will help speed up the hot alignment process in section 2

Below are laser tool limits for each coupling type. Note IW 8071 A0 should be referenced to confirm data below
is still valid. IF RUBBER RAILS ARE NEW (LESS THAN 10000 OPERATING HOURS) THEN GEARBOX MUST BE SET
LOW TO ALLOW FOR RAIL SETTLING. AFTER 10000 HOURS OPERATING HOURS GEARBOX VERTICAL CAN GO TO
               STANDARD
