Online Collaborative Learning
Introduction
In the current educational context, online learning has become an important
alternative, especially in Indonesia during the pandemic of covid-19 era, for reasons of
safety and security of students, there are many schools and universities that have to switch
from conventional learning models to online learning models. The implementation of
online learning has led to the emergence of internet-based applications that provide video
conferencing services. What was once a two-participant communication service, such as
video calling, has evolved into a multi-participant video meeting service.
The availability of these applications makes it easier for many people to meet and
interact digitally face to face. The teaching and learning process has also become more
flexible through the use of similar software. Digital-based online learning is considered as
one of the solutions that support the implementation of government restrictions on
community work, so that learners can still receive knowledge transfer even from a distance,
rather than by meeting in person in the classroom. Patria and Yulianto suggest that there are
several learning methods that are used when learning from home, including online learning.
Online learning is a learning method that uses technology and internet networks and
software such as Whatsapp, Google Classroom, Zoom or other applications (Kristina, dkk.,
2020).
