The Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture (PERMENDIKBUD) No.
109 of 2013 on the Implementation of Distance Education contains the definition and
characteristics of distance education as follows:
1. Distance education, hereinafter abbreviated as PJJ, is a teaching-learning
process conducted at a distance through the use of various communication
media.
2. Distance Education Resource Unit, hereinafter abbreviated as USBJJ, is a
supporting unit for the implementation of PJJ which is outside the university
organizing PJJ.
3. Learning Support is all forms of support activities carried out by PJJ organizers
to facilitate the learning process of students.
