                  HISTORY

Junior Certificate history is a course that aims to give students
an overall view of the most important developments in human
history, from the development of farming by the Neolithic (Stone
age) people through to the Romans, Revolutions, the Second

Students who enjoy History tend to be those who wish to discover
more about the people who have shaped the world in which we live; students who ask questions and
who are interested in discovering how one event tends to follow on from ANOTHER.

                  What is History?
History records and studies events which happened in the past. History looks at how and why events

What is the History Junior Cycle Examination like?

                  Career Note
You will gain experience of working with evidence and learn to tell the difference between fact and
opinion. This is a very important skill. History is a very practical subject because it involves learning
about people, countries, societies, and cultures. History can help you in many different careers,
especially those linked with law, politics, heritage, tourism, research, and the environment.
