Becoming Chief Resident at St. Joseph’s

                      in Hamilton

uring my year as chief resident at St. Joseph’s Hospital, I came to realize that my true interest lay in
Dacademic medicine. Working at McMaster Medical School during its early days was an exciting and
fascinating experience. On July 1, 1971, I officially began my academic career as an assistant professor,
launching what would become a fulfilling journey.
