on you; and you will be my wit-nesses in Jerusalem, and in
all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
One thing which needs to be addressed, is that the scripture
above does not refer to the Baptism of the Holy Spirit but
rather the anointing of the Holy Spirit. This is the Baptism of
the Fire. When the anointing of the Holy Spirit is received,
the power of heaven is also received. Yes, there are things
happening during the baptism of the Holy Spirit as well,
but the anointing of the Holy Spirit yields greater power.
When Jesus spoke these scriptures, it was not about a simple
baptism of the Holy Spirit, but being filled with the Holy
Spirit.
John the Baptist spoke of the baptism of Fire and the Holy
Spirit to help clarify the differ-ences in the scripture below.
“I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will
come one who is more power-ful than I, whose sandals I am
not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and
with fire” (Matthew 3:11)
Why did John the Baptist make a distinction from his
baptism of water to Jesus’ baptism of the Holy Spirit and
