Now you have come to understand that only the believers
are able to receive the power and authority through Jesus. It
wasn’t only the 12 disciples who had received the power and
the 70 disciples, who are able to utilize the authority. We all
can put the power and authority of the Lord to use. This is
the Gospel. This is the power. Hallelujah!
So then, did the Lord simply speak words to impart power
and authority to the disciples, or were there some other
special processes involved? ‘The laying on of hands’ is
mentioned fre-quently throughout the bible. In recent times,
the importance of ‘laying on of hands’ was greatly reduced.
Even some 20 to 30 years ago, everyone took great efforts in
receiving a prayer through the laying on of hands. But now,
if one were to carelessly lay hands on a person, that church
would get in an uproar. This is how much the perception of
the laying on of hands has changed.
But the power in laying on of hands in the bible is stated to
be greatly powerful. Paul spoke these words to Timothy.
“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of
God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands” (2
Tim 1:6).
