The Bible scholars do not place much importance on the

laying on of hands in these verses. It is interpreted to be just
an encouragement from an elder pastor to a younger pastor.

However, it is most wise, when the Bible is interpreted just
as it is written. That is why, the Ephe-sus Disciples receiving

the Holy Spirit through the laying on of hands are mentioned
in previous texts. Why would such a word as ‘laying on of

hands’ exist, if the bible authors did not place any importance
             in such a word?

It is clear that Paul possessed an understanding in knowing
that the power of God was imparted through the laying on of

hands. In this text, Paul stated “to fan into flame the gift of
God,” describing the gift of the Holy Spirit as ‘flame’. And

the Bible Scholars again interpret this text as a simple way of
             encouraging others to work.

In the era of the early church, there were some ceremonial
processes that were held as important. The author of Hebrews

state such a process in the text.

“Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about
Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation

of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in
God, in-struction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the
