Luke utilized the word “trance” in his recording of the

book “Acts.” What does the word, “trance” mean? “Trance”
in greek is “ekstasis.” Amazingly, English utilizes the

Greek word in its direct translation form. In English, it is
called “ecstasy.” This means “rapturous delight,” “over-

powering emotion” or “intense emotion of any kind.” In
most of the Bible translations, it is utilized as “trance.”

“Trance” also represents “a half-conscious state, seemingly
between sleeping and walking”, a “bewildered condition” or

             “unconscious condition”.
At times, there are some who experience a rapture. We

often label them as a “special” person. It is because not many
are able to experience rapture. Those who have experienced

it often say “the physical state of senses or consciousness
could not be felt,” or “my the spirit was separated and was

             active apart from the body.”
If you pray the prayer of the spirit, the state of rapture can

be experienced. This is in par-allel with Peter praying in a
state of “trance.” This differs from the prayer of petition and

loud cries. It only prays in The spirit, as the prayer of the
spirit. When the prayer of the spirit is carried out, the senses

of the body are lost to a degree. This degree differs by the
depth and level of the prayer.
