Stakeholders' Perceptions Of The Family Planning Program During The
INTRODUCTION
The number of unintended pregnancies and the decreasing use of
contraceptives during the COVID-19 pandemic are of particular
concern to the national population and family planning program. The
successful implementation of the family planning program cannot be
carried out by the government alone. Still, it requires strong synergy
with stakeholders. The difference in perceptions among stakeholders,
acceptors, and the community about family planning is crucial, so
qualitative research is needed to identify this matter. This research
was intended to explore stakeholder perceptions of post-partum
family planning programs and their barriers in the pandemic era.
METHODS
This research used
participants consisting of family planning officers, cadres of the family
planning unit, and the head of the family planning program have
participated in the research. Data were collected through in-depth
interviews and then analyzed using content analysis.
RESULT
There has been cooperation between health workers and
community leaders at the village and sub-district levels in realizing
the Bangga Kencana program. During the COVID-19 pandemic,
there were restrictions on post-partum family planning program
services at the public health center, especially long-term
contraceptive method services. Stakeholders consider education
level, different perceptions, negative perceptions, no training, and
doubts about partners' barriers to post-partum family planning
programs.
DISCUSSION
Based on the results of the analysis, the results show that there
has been cooperation between health workers and community
leaders at the village and sub-district levels. Collaboration with
midwives for home visits to post-partum mothers, collaboration with
related public health center, integrated service post, cadres, family
planning units, family planning sub-districts has also been
implemented. Yunas and Nailufar (2019) explained that the
government in carrying out the family planning program, certainly
has specific goals that cannot be resolved on its own.
