2026 Goal: Leaders across Unity Health Toronto are recruited,
oriented, trained and supported to create an environment that
supports all aspects of the Institute for Healthcare
Improvement (IHI) Joy in Work framework. Ensure Unity Health
can provide impactful leadership development opportunities for
staff at all stages of their leadership journey. Equity, diversity
and inclusion are embedded into our policies, structures and
everyday culture, creating a safe space for addressing systemic
inequities and racism among our workforce in the same way we
strive to do with our communities. We recognize that
representation matters in advancing health equity and our
leaders and teams will become increasingly representative of
the communities that we serve.
Strategic Objectives
• Dramatically increase the leadership advancement program
offerings to dramatically impact the development of current
and future leaders
• Orient, mentor, educate, and grow accountability for
leadership excellence that contributes to all aspects of Joy in
Work
• Attract, promote and retain top talent that is representative
