911 CALL CENTER
Built as a fortress, the Public Safety Answering Center houses both the 911
call center for NYPD, NYFD and the Command Center for Emergency
Management. To protect this critical infrastructure, SMS was commissioned
to provide a multi-level approach for both physical security and video
surveillance.
Hydraulically operated barriers equipped with card access protect the
perimeter entry points. These barriers can also be remotely controlled via the
access control solution. Video surveillance monitor both the perimeter and
parking areas.
Turnstiles equipped with biometric vascular readers control access to the
building. SMS also provided both X-Ray and magnetometers for entry
security. Mifare readers control access to interior secured areas.
SMS integrated both AMAG Symmetry for access control and Genetec for the
video management solution.
