             Tubular bandages, e.g. Tubigrip , are useful for retaining dressings on these difficult
        parts of the body (Figures 3.27a and b). The tubular bandage can be secured to the hair above

        the knee or hock with an adhesive bandage such as Elastoplast . This should be done with
        care as repeated applications and removal can make the skin sore. Provided it stays clean, the
        tubular bandage does not need to be removed each time the dressing is changed. The lower

        edge of the bandage is simply rolled up to allow cleaning and inspection of the wound. A
        stable bandage is used to secure the lower end of the tubular dressing.
