        Bandaging the foot


        Follow the instructions in the poulticing section on pages 77–79. Disposable nappies make a
        useful dressing that can be taped in place if no other materials are immediately available.




        Bandaging the knee and hock

        These are awkward sites to bandage as the constant movement tends to loosen the bandage. It

        can then slip down the leg and cause undesirable ridges of pressure. If bandaging of this area
        is  necessary,  your  vet  will  demonstrate  the  technique  which  avoids  pressure  on  the  bony
        prominences such as the point of the hock and the accessory carpal bone at the back of the

        knee (Figures 3.24a and b and 3.25).
