Farmers need something
specific to farmers to feel
comfortable reaching out.
Needing to be understood
is so important when you
finally make the big step to
contact someone when you
are in crisis.

Agriculture and Agri-Food on their
study on Mental Health Challenges
that Canadian Farmers and
Producers Face
Mental health affects all of us, in every community. Only
half of those affected receive treatment, often because of
the stigma attached to mental health. The stigma can be
removed by expressing sympathy, empathy and under-
standing. And, knowing the signs and symptoms of men-
tal illness is vital so that treatment can begin as soon as
possible.
We proudly promote Ag Women’s Network and other com-
munity organizations in spreading awareness to support
#mentalhealthawareness.
