Solutions
Preferred alternative
A case study solution is action-oriented and is a combination
of ideas used to help you achieve the objective of solving
identified problems. However, it is unusual in any given
situation for there to be a single solution to a given problem.
Consequently, given these multiple solutions always state
what the preferred option is and explain why it is preferred.
How many alternative solutions should you list?
- There is a good number,
- five is too many,
- but one is never enough
It helps focus on the appropriate solution if a ranking
system is used for example:
evaluation of the pros and cons of the alternative chosen as
well as the long and short-term effects.
