The Story
Hazel Hopper's grandmother had, in June
2007, died leaving a not inconsiderable sum
of money to Hazel. A close, unemployed,
friend, Holly Blackberry, had suggested that
they should start a rabbit farm.
Hazel had worked in a middle management
position, in personnel, for a large
multinational firm for a number of years but,
had found herself becoming increasingly
bored and unfulfilled with her job.
Striking out on her own was appealing
though, at the same time, frightening.
However, Holly had slowly convinced her that the 'Rabbit
Farm' idea was a good one. She after all, had raised rabbits
as a child and knew all there was to know about them.
Having made her decision to leave her job and embark on
this new venture Hazel Hopper began in January 2008 the
process of building a business. A business based on:-
Research
Prior to investing Hazel researched the market in particular
facilities, equipment, and breeding stock, and determined
where the market was and how many rabbits and their
products it could support.
