               Moreover, recognising which problems are core problems,
               or long-term problems is an essential feature of case

               analysis. It is essential to distinguish between symptoms of

               the major problems and the major problems themselves.


               A symptom is an indication that something in the case is not

               as is expected. Symptoms are therefore, indicators of

               problems and the focus of analysis should be on identifying
               the causes of the problem rather than on its symptoms.

               However, recognising symptoms should lead to problem

               identification so list all those indicators that show something

               is wrong or unexpected in the case.
