In 2000, crisps in general were all mass-produced.
Production started in July 2002, with four flavours – locally sourced
Cider Vinegar & Sea Salt, Lightly Sea Salted, Sea Salt & Black Pepper
and as Chase was keen to have a spice flavour, Jalapeno Chilli &
Lemmon.
Tyrrells homemade chips were an immediate success as customers
bought into the 'pedigree' of the product and two months after it
launched, Tyrrells won six medals at the Great Taste Awards.
