PROGRAMMING:


                                    Programming in the tourism industry relates to

                                    special  events  or  activities,  which  are


                                    organized        to    induce       higher      consumer

                                    spending.  Bringing  the  sustainability  element


                                    is  essential  to  avoid  waste  management  or

                                    destination  overload.  Hence  through  the


                                    ―carrying  capacity  concept‖  marketers  can

                                    offer  certainty  of  demand  to  suppliers  and


                                    partners, reducing opportunities for wastage.

                                    Programming  has  emerged  as  a  critical


                                    element  of  sustainable  marketing  mix  in  the

                                    light of increasing natural disasters across the


                                    world.  Social  activists  feel  that  unplanned,

                                    unsustainable path towards development, leads

                                    to  such  disasters.  Disaster  in  India‘s  state-


                                    Uttarakhand  in  mid-2013,  created  awareness

                                    among local authorities and travelers about the


                                    criticality  of  Programming.  Massive  floods
