Glossary of Terms

      critical  limits are violated or exceeded, products are
      deemed  to be potentially unsafe.
      Critical Quality Point (CQP)
      A  step  in  which  a quality or operational  threat can
      be  prevented, eliminated or reduced to acceptable
      levels. Any point in the process where loss of control
      leads  to  problems  affecting  product  quality.  Term
      used in SQF only.
      Customer Satisfaction
      A  customer’s  perception  of  the  degree  to  which
      their  requirements have been fulfilled.

      Defect
      Non-fulfillment of a requirement related to intended
      or specified use.

      Effectiveness
      The  extent  to  which  planned activities are  realized
      and planned results are achieved.

      First-Party Audits
      Internal  audits  to  evaluate  internal  processes,
      procedures  and  products.  This  undertaking  is by the
      company  itself  and  involves  no  one  else.  Reports
      generated  by  a  first-party audit are for internal use
      only.
