Glossary of Terms

      Impartiality
      A  principle  of  honesty  and  fairness  that  decisions
      should  be  based  on  objective  criteria,  rather  than
      on  the  basis  of  bias,  prejudice  or  preferring  the
      benefit  to  one  person  over  another  for  improper
      reasons.

      Internal Audit
      A  systematic  evidence  gathering  process  that  is
      carried out in order to determine how well a food
      safety  management  system  meets  a  set  of
      expectations.

      Inspection Audit
      An  assessment  that  reviews  and  identifies
      conditions  at  the  time  of  the  audit,  including  a
      physical  review  of  the  location,  equipment  and
      processes  to  evaluate  conformance  to  required
      programs.

      Management
      Coordinated  activities  to  direct  and  control  an
      organization.

      Management Review
      Evaluates   the   overall   performance   of   an
      organization's  food  safety  management  system
      and  identifies improvement opportunities. These
