She was so tiny in my arms, skin and bones, about

6-weeks old according to the veterinarian. And she
was a Pitbull, a type of dogs I had never been
interested in. My type was the German Shepherd.

Apache became my therapy dog; we went
everywhere together for over 12 years, until she
               passed away.

The Pitbull unfortunately has gotten a bad,
               undeserved reputation.

They are strong, intelligent, and so much fun. They
are the clowns of the dog family, very loyal, super

loving, real cuddle-bugs. Once upon a time, they
were the baby-sitters for the children of farmers,
when the parents worked in the field.

                                           She became “my type of
                                           dogs.”

Here she is, with a favorite

                                           toy, a couple of months
                                           before her passing.

                                           Apache helped me survive

                                           the difficult years I spent
                                           separated from my
                                           children, by court order.
They kept being abused, and I was kept away.
