During the Ming dynasty, classic texts were
revised, and more techniques were
developped. Later on, more points were
added. The Principles of Acupuncture and
Moxibustion, a 120 volumes encyclopedic
work, was then introduced in Europe.
Chairman Mao, in 1950, officially united
Traditional Chinese Medicine with Western
Medicine. Acupuncture became established
in many hospitals, and is an important
element of China’s medical system.
During his visit to China in 1972, President
Nixon learned about acupuncture. In 1995,
